President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden have issued a public service announcement encouraging Americans to get a COVID-19 vaccine. The video was posted to the President’s Twitter account on Easter Sunday.
“We share the sentiments of Pope Francis who said that getting vaccinated is a moral obligation, one that can save your life and the lives of others,” President Joe Biden said.
“By getting vaccinated and encouraging your congregations and your communities to get vaccinated, we not only can beat this virus, we can also haste the day when we can celebrate the holidays together.”
The PSA came shortly after the CDC reported that a record-high four million COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered on Saturday. As a result, the average number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered each day has risen to three million. Across the county, more than 160 million doses have been administered over the last few months. Globally, nearly 150 million people have been vaccinated.
From our family to yours, we wish you health, hope, joy, and peace. Happy Easter, everyone! pic.twitter.com/3NHPrbFCVt
