First Lady Jill Biden will host a fundraiser for the Biden Victory Fund, a joint fundraising committee authorized by Biden for President, on Thursday, July 25 in Paris, France. Hosted by US Ambassador Tony Gardner, Belinda de Gaudemar and Lorna Johnson, the event boasts ticket prices ranging from $500 to $25,000.
The Jill Biden-led fundraiser is set to take place after several high-profile donors publicly called for the President to suspend his re-election indefinitely, including billionaire Michael Mortiz, Netflix Co-Founder Reed Hastings and former PayPal CEO Bill Harris.
“Sadly, President Biden has a choice — vanity or virtue,” Moritz told the New York Times.
“He can either condemn the country to dark and cruel times or heed the voice of Father Time. The clock has run out.”
Despite growing calls to end his re-election campaign, Biden remains steadfast in his desire to run for another years in office.
“You have heard from the president directly time and again. He is in this race to win and he is our nominee and he’s going to be our president for a second term,” the President’s campaign chair, Jen O’Malley Dillon, said.
As campaign efforts move forward, Dr. Jill Biden will make her way to Europe. One day after the fundraiser, she will lead Team USA during the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. The First Lady previously lead the U.S. Delegation at the Summer Olympics and Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan.
