Jermell Charlo knocked Jeison Rosario in the eighth round to unify the WBA, WBC and IBF Junior Middleweight titles. Charlo knocked Rosario down twice before sending him to the canvas with a jab to the body. By winning the bout, Charlos is just one belt away from becoming the division’s undisputed champion.
“Team Charlo,” he shouted.
“I definitely proved that I’m more than just a puncher, but I’m also a puncher.”
Charlo added to what has been an exciting night for the Charlo family. In addition to Jermell Charlo’s victory, Jermall Charlo defeated Sergiy Derevyanchenko by unanimous decision to maintain his undefeated record.
Inside the ring, the brotherly duo handled business in a major way. The two have proven that they can handle the best of the best at their respective divisions. Now, the duo is looking to be major box office draws. In Connecticut, the two headlined their first PPV event. In the coming days, more details regarding their commercial pull will be shared with the public. For now, the Charlo family can celebrate a major night in their family’s ascent to boxing royalty.
