
Members of the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers will not be the only people working toward a championship at Crypto.com arena this spring. Boxing Scene reports that Jermell Charlo and Brian Castaño will fight for the undisputed junior middleweight title on March 19 in Los Angeles, California. An official fight announcement has not been made, but tickets will reportedly go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. ET.
Charlo and Castaño last fought on July 17, 2021 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. In an all-out ward, the two junior middleweight champions battled to a split draw. Charlo won on one judge’s score card by six points while Castaño eked out a one-point victory another judge’s scorecard. The deciding scorecard found that the fight was a 114-114 draw.
Charlo-Castaño II will cap off an exciting night of fights across the country. On March 19, welterweight contender will reportedly fight Michael McKinson at USC’s Galen Center. Across the country, Edgar Berlanga, Keyshawn Davis and Xander Zayas will lead an exciting card at the Hulu Theater in New York.
