Actor Jermaine Fowler is set to join the cast of Faces of Death in Louisiana. Fowler joins a cast that reportedly includes Barbie Ferreira, Charli XCX, Josie Totah and Dacre Montgomery. Not to be forgotten, Daniel Goldhaber is set to direct the project.
Fowler’s latest project will bring the 1978 edition of Faces of Death into a new era. The original centers around “a ‘mockumentary’ hosted by Dr. Francis B. Gross, a coroner.”
“[Gross] is trying to show you the different ‘faces’ of people while dying. There are faked scenes of people getting killed intermixed with footage of real accidents. There are executions by decapitation (in an unknown Arab country) and the electric chair. One scene shows a group of tourists in Egypt smashing a monkey’s head while still alive and eating its brains. There are shots of animals eating people and Satanic orgies using dead bodies,” the original film’s description reads.
“There is a segment that deals with an alligator that accidentally entered ‘residential’ waters. The local warden goes in his boat to get the alligator back into the sea when he accidentally falls over and becomes gator bait. The film ends with newsreel footage of people jumping off buildings and major accidents.”
Fowler joins the cast of Faces of Death after making appearances in Coming 2 America, Judas and the Black Messiah and Leon Bridges’ “Why Don’t You Touch Me” video. Alongside Faces of Death, he is also set to appear in the upcoming film, The Blackening.
