Jenna Fischer will join the cast of the upcoming film, Mean Girls, from Paramount Pictures. Fischer will play the role of Cady Heron’s mom, Ms. Heron, alongside a cast that includes Angourie Rice, Reneé Rapp, Auli’i Cravalho, Jaquel Spivey and Tina Fey. Christopher Briney and Bebe Wood will also appear in the film.
Following in the footsteps of the popular film, the reboot will take its direction from the 12-time Tony-nominated stage play written by Tina Fey.
“Cady Heron may have grown up on an African savanna, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois,” the play’s synopsis reads.
“How will this naïve newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? By taking on The Plastics, a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George. But when Cady devises a plan to end Regina’s reign, she learns the hard way that you can’t cross a Queen Bee without getting stung.”
Fischer is best known for her portrayal of Pam Beesly in the iconic comedy series, The Office. She has also appeared in Drunk History, Blades of Glory, Cold Case, Six Feet Under and That 70s Show.
