Jamie Foxx is set to direct an upcoming film called When We Pray. The new film will follow the story of two brothers who work as pastors at separate churches in the same community. One brother leads a church that thrives on technology and leans into the idea of becoming a mega church. Meanwhile, the other brother leans toward a more conservative approach, but often runs into financial problems.
The film has not cast a lead, but the screenplay has already been co-written by Foxx and Donald Ray “Speedy” Caldwell. Previously, Caldwell has worked on In Living Color and MTV’s Video Music Awards.
When We Pray reportedly has a budget of $5 million. Production is set to begin before the end of the year given the ongoing health crisis.
More details regarding the film will be reported as they become available.
