The trimmed list comes on the heels of Todd’s announcement that he would be transferring schools for his senior year. He will be playing for Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, NC. This school is notable for being the alma mater of John Wall.
Todd is ranked 14th in the class of 2020, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. The versatile big man played for Nightrydas Elite on the EYBL AAU Circuit this summer. There, he averaged 17.7 PPG, 8.3 RPG, and 1.6 BPG over the course of the circuit. Todd is known as a “unicorn” type of big man. At a long 6-foot-10, Todd is extremely mobile with an array of impressive dribble moves and tantalizing shooting range.
The frontrunners in this recruitment appear to be Kentucky and North Carolina. He has unofficially visited UNC more than once and has been in very close contact with the staff at Kentucky over the last year or so. However, Michigan looks to be making a late, interesting run. The Wolverines were not on Todd’s final 10, but after receiving an offer from Juwan Howard, it seems that they are making up ground on the star big man.
Isaiah Todd is one of the more interesting long-term prospects in the class. His recruitment will be closely watched, and his decision has the potential to make a major splash in college hoops.
