Iman Shumpert has suffered a dislocated left shoulder during Friday’s 101-95 win over the Celtics and it could keep him out for weeks. Shumpert took a spill after he tried poking the ball away from Green during the second quarter. Shumpert was in terrible pain walking to the locker room to have the shoulder put back in place. No timetable has been made for Shumpert but it depends on how much damage was done to ligaments or the labrum.
“We’ll see, I think I’m a pretty strong guy so hopefully all the weights I lifted this summer paid off and it will be a simple dislocation and I’ll be rehabbing it back,’’ Shumpert said.
Shumpert said he would dislocate his shoulder every game if it means a victory. Fisher noted Shumpert was an inspiration at halftime.
“He was in pain but the first thing he said was, “Go get this win.’ ”
Last nights Knicks win was their first win since Nov.22 against the Sixers and they’ve gone 1-10 since. The rest of December won’t be too kind to the Knicks as they face the first seeded Raptors Sunday and play eight of nine games against teams that are .500 or better. Only the Kings, who they face Dec. 27 in Sacramento, are below .500 with a record of 11-12. The Knicks are already without J.R. Smith and now will be without Shumpert for at least a couple weeks are in deep trouble right now.
