HYBE America, a global entertainment imprint based in South Korea, has reportedly acquired Quality Control for $320 million in stock and cash.
“I am so proud and honored to have Coach and P join Bang and I as our partners,” HYBE America CEO Scooter Braun said.
“QC is one of the most significant independent labels in the world, working with incredible artists who are, and remain to be, the voices of culture. I’ll never forget riding around Atlanta over 20 years ago with Coach discussing our dreams and ambitions and how we said ‘If they let us in the game, we are never going to give it back.’ Now, all these years later, we are joining forces to make these dreams a reality.”
Founded in 2013, QC has quickly become one of the most prominent brands in music by signing deals with the Migos, Lil’ Baby, City Girls and Lil’ Yachty. More recently, the brand has ventured into film and television with the documentaries like Untrapped and series like Rap Sh*t.
Quality Control Co-Founders Pierre “P” Thomas and Kevin “Coach K” Lee have developed a strong relationship with HYBE America CEO Scooter Braun that stems back to the early 2000s. In addition, HYBE America has also acquired Braun’s SB Projects that manages Quavo of the Migos along with Ariana Grande, Sheryl Crow and Rascal Flatts.
