Hunter Biden has filed a lawsuit against Rudy Giuliani and his former attorney, Robert Costello. The lawsuit claims Giuliani and others violated his digital privacy by hacking and manipulating data on an external drive associated with his laptop.
“Defendants are among those who have been primarily responsible for what has been described as the ‘total annihilation’ of Plaintiff’s digital privacy,” the lawsuit reads.
“They also are among those who have been primarily responsible for the ‘total annihilation’ of Plaintiff’s data.”
In October 2020, Giuliani allegedly delivered information obtained from Biden’s laptop to the New York Post. Shortly thereafter, the publication issued a story suggesting President Joe Biden may have attended a meeting with a representative of a Ukrainian company that employed Hunter Biden. President Joe Biden and Hunter Biden’s alleged corrupt business dealings with the Ukrainian company are now the subject of an impeachment inquiry on Capitol Hill.
“For the past many months and even years, Defendants have dedicated an extraordinary amount of time and energy toward looking for, hacking into, tampering with, manipulating, copying, disseminating, and generally obsessing over data that they were given that was taken or stolen from Plaintiff’s devices or storage platforms, including what Defendants claim to have obtained from Plaintiff’s alleged ‘laptop’ computer,” the lawsuit continues.
Costello nor Giuliani have issued a public comment regarding Biden’s lawsuit.
