It’s about that time! After the last iteration of the XFL was cut short due to the spread of COVID-19, Dany Garcia and Dwayne Johnson have resurrected the once-beloved XFL. After nine weeks of football, fans eagerly anticipate the regular season finale and the start of the playoffs.
For those still making their way into the XFL kingdom, here are a few things to be aware of heading into the postseason. First, only four of the league’s eight teams will have the opportunity to compete for the championship. The league is split into the North Division and the South Division. The North Division includes the league-leading DC Defenders, St. Louis Battlehawks, Seattle Sea Dragons and Las Vegas Vipers. Thus far, the DC Defenders have claimed a playoff berth and home-field advantage in the North Division title game. Meanwhile, the St. Louis Battlehawks and Seattle Sea Dragons remain in contention for the second and final playoff spot. In the South Division, the Houston Roughnecks, Arlington Renegades, San Antonio Brahmas and Orlando Guardians have competed for a spot in the final four. The Houston Roughnecks have clinched a playoff berth and home-field advantage in the South Division title game. Meanwhile, the Arlington Renegades have claimed the second and final spot in the South Division title game.
