For the first time in his career, Gunna has topped the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Chart. “Fukumean” has claimed the chart’s pole position after successfully garnering more streams each week since its release earlier this summer. The track’s music video, which was released earlier this month, has also picked up nearly five million views.
“Fukumean” is also steadily climbing the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The breakout single has only spent four weeks on the chart, but has already climbed to seventh place. Aside from “Fast Car” by Luke Combs and “Last Night” by Morgan Wallen, the Gunna hit is the only song in the top ten to improve its position from the week before. Songs like “Vampire” by Olivia Rodrigo and “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus have all lost momentum from the previous week.
The success of “fukumean” coincides with the announcement of Gunna’s first minitour of 2023. Following the release of his latest project, Gunna will take his talents to the Barclays Center on September 9 and the YouTube Theater on September 28. A portion of the proceeds from each show will benefit The Goodr Foundation, a nonprofit combating multi-generational poverty.
