Following the departure of Ellen Pompeo’s Meredith Grey, ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy will welcome William Martinez in the role of Trey. Per a report from Kate Arthur of Variety, Martinez’s character is described as an important figure from Simone’s past. As it stands, Martinez is expected to make his debut on March 2, 2023.
“Teddy makes a challenging decision,” the logline for the upcoming episode reads.
“Meanwhile, Maggie and Winston aren’t on speaking terms and Link leans on Jo for emotional support as he preps for a surgery on a well-known athlete. Simone and Lucas are surprised by an unlikely visitor.”
Trey may turn out to be Martinez’s breakout role, but it is not his first time under the bright lights. Over the years, he’s appeared in The Blacklist, The Equalizer, FBI and Law & Order: Organized Crime. Most recently, he appeared on Netflix’s Kaleidoscope.
“He attended the University of Pittsburgh, and majored in Marketing and Information systems, while attending classes at the Pittsburgh film institute. After graduation he moved to New York and worked in business for a year while saving up to leave his job and pursue his acting career,” Martinez’s bio reads.
“William Martinez is now a full time actor with his focus being Film/TV and commercials. He hopes to work in films/series that tackle diversity and advocate for Latino actors.”
Martinez will make his debut as Trey on March 2, 2023 at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
