ABC has announced the star studded cast that will appear in the highly anticipated Good Times special. Viola Davis and Andre Braugher will pay the roles of Florida and James Evans. Jay Pharoah will play J.J. Evans. Meanwhile, Asante Blackk will take on the role of J.J. Evans and Corrine Foxx will play the role of Thelma Evans. In addition, Tiffany Haddish and Jharrel Jerome will appear in the special.
The special will build on the previous All in the Family special that features Woody Harrelson, Marisa Tomei, Ellie Kemper and Ike Barinholtz. Behind the scenes, Jimmy Kimmel and Norman Lear will produce the special.
ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke stated, “The holiday season is the perfect time for families to come together and enjoy another Live in Front of a Studio Audience special on ABC. Only Jimmy and Norman can top what they accomplished the first time.”
Burke adds, “From the superstar talent to the unforgettable music and the richly deserved Emmy win, their collective vision has introduced a whole new generation of people to these groundbreaking and timeless stories–and now with Good Times as part of the lineup, this will surely be another can’t-miss television event.”
