Freddie Gibbs and Madlib have delivered the long awaited project, Bandana. The duo’s newest project comes with forty-six minutes of new music spread out over fifteen tracks. Bandana is led by the album’s three lead singles, “Flat Tummy Tea,” “Crime Pays” and “Giannis” featuring Anderson .Paak. Other standout tracks include “Fake Names” and “Massage Seats.” In addition, the project features Black Thought, Pusha T, Killer Mike and many more.
Prior to Bandana, Freddie Gibbs had put together a few producer-rapper collaborations. Recently, he worked with The Alchemist and Curren$y on Fetti. Most notably, he teamed up with Madlib for their 2014 project, Piñata. The joint project delivered seventeen new tracks and features from Danny Brown, Raekwon, Scarface, Mac Miller, Earl Sweatshirt and many more.
This time around the producer-rapper team is hoping to outdo their previous effort. To celebrate the release of their latest project, the duo will be performing at the MoMA PS1 in New York on July 6. They’ll join Pardison Fontaine, Kelly Lee Owens and more. In the meantime, check out their latest project and let us know what you think. Is it better than their previous joint project?
