Have you ever wondered who developed the unique taste of Coca-Cola? Or have you ever wondered how Nashville hot chicken was created? Well, Hulu has! In their latest original series, the streaming platform took a closer look at the story behind one of the world’s most popular snacks — Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Led by Eva Longoria, Hulu’s latest original film tells the story of Richard Montañez, a janitor who rose through the ranks of Frito Lay by creating one of the company’s most popular products.
“This is the inspiring true story of Richard Montañez who as a Frito Lay janitor disrupted the food industry by channeling his Mexican American heritage to turn Flamin’ Hot Cheetos from a snack into an iconic global pop culture phenomenon,” the film’s synopsis reads.
The film is led by director Eva Longoria and features a cast that includes Dennis Haysbert, Jessie Garcia, Annie Gonzalez, Bobby Soto and Brice Gonzalez.
“I’m so excited for the world to see Flamin’ Hot on these two streaming platforms making this universal, inspirational story accessible to an even wider audience,” Longoria told Variety.
“Now everyone can celebrate the joy, power and heart of this film that also happens to uplift Latinos both in front of and behind the camera.”
