Hailing from California, Burnett is ranked 22nd in the class of 2020 per 247Sports Composite and the fifth-ranked combo guard. Burnett plays for national powerhouse Prolific Prep in California. He recently played for Team WhyNot on the EYBL circuit, making it to the championship game but losing N’Faly Dante and MOKAN Elite. There he averaged 19.1 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 3 APG.
Nimari Burnett had already scheduled three official visits; to Michigan, Louisville, and Alabama to take place in September. While he hasn’t set his official visits to the other two schools, it is safe to assume that those will happen soon. His recruitment seems wide open at the moment, with these five schools representing a fairly wide variety of different types of schools.
The 6-foot-3 guard is a promising player at the next level. Burnett is versatile scorer with the strength and length to finish at the rim. His on-ball defensive prowess should be a valuable asset for a program at the next level.
There isn’t a timeframe on Burnett’s decision yet. However, given the timing of this cut list and his visits, it would not be a surprise to see a decision in time for the early signing period.
