‘The Snowman’ was originally a 2007 crime novel written by Norwegian author Jo Nesbø. The book was a massive success and ever since its release, there has been a desire to adapt it into a major motion picture. The project has bounced around a bit over the years and at one point even had Martin Scorsese attached to direct. Although Scorsese has since dropped out of directing the project he is still attached and is serving as an Executive Producer on the film. ‘The Snowman’ stars Michael Fassbender and Rebecca Ferguson and centers around a string of killings all involving women the killer “does not approve of”. While the plot doesn’t sound the particularly revolutionary, the snow-filled setting in which the film takes place adds an element of originality to the film.
‘The Snowman’ is set to open in October and could potentially serve as one of the better thrillers available in theatres around Halloween this year. We’ve attached the official synopsis and trailer for the film below.
