HBO is riding high to start this year as True Detective returned to form with its third season, not to mention the looming juggernaut that is Game of Thrones‘ final season. However, all good things must come to an end and True Detective is no different as the season ends on February 24th. Don’t worry though, HBO has announced the February additions to their catalog and, there are plenty of good shows and movies to keep you entertained until Game of Thrones.
Folklore, a new horror anthology, is set to premiere on February 1st and, if the first trailers are anything to go off of, it looks terrifying. That isn’t the only show premiering in February though as season two of 2 Dope Queens is set to premiere a week later on the 8th. Last Week Tonight with John Oliver is also set to premiere its sixth season in the latter half of the month, on Feb. 18th.
HBO hasn’t just stuck to original television programming though. There are also a number of original features hitting the platform over the next few weeks. First up, on the 9th, HBO is dropping their acclaimed documentary Won’t You Be My Neighbor? after a limited theatrical release last summer. The doc examines the life and legacy of Mr. Rogers and his famous TV show. Then, near the end of the month, Jeffery Wright’s prison drama O.G. will premiere on Feb. 23rd.
HBO doesn’t only put out original content though and they are bolstering their movie offerings this month. Most notably, Uncle Drew on February 2nd and Deadpool 2: Super Duper Cut on February 16th. However, there is a trade-off here though as both Logan and Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang are leaving the service on the 28th.
