Dwight Howard appears certain to be a Los Angeles Laker when the 2012-13 NBA season opens later this year. Howard, whose on-going trade saga has lasted almost three-months now, is part of a four-team blockbuster trade where the Lakers will receive D12, the Denver Nuggets will acquire Andre Iguodala, the 76ers will receive Andrew Bynum and Jason Richardson, and the Magic will Aaron Afflalo, Al Harrington and Nikola Vucevic and one protected future first-round pick from each of the other three teams.
Pau Gasol, first rumored to be included in the deal, is not a part of the package. Looks like Kobe’s word still stands on that issue and the Spaniard will remain there as long as Kobe is there.
The deal still needs to be approved by the NBA on Friday.
UPDATE: The NBA has approved of the deal.
