Draymond Green is without a doubt the most emotional and demonstrative member of the Golden State Warriors. The All-Star forward has been known to get himself in some hot water for his antics and also made a few around the Warriors organization a little upset. But with the bad, good comes along with it. He’s been a top contender for Defensive Player of the Year the last two seasons and his rebounding and passing make up for the times he might struggle on offense.
Green’s fantastic play was an instrumental piece in the Warriors returning to the NBA Finals last season for a rematch with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs came out victorious after a thrilling seven game series. But many believe the series would’ve ended if Green didn’t get suspended due to accumulating too many flagrant foul points during the postseason culminating in one final flagrant after striking Cavs star LeBron James in the groin.
We will never know whether or not the serious would be different had Green not been suspended. But after the Warriors added Kevin Durant to their roster in the offseason and the Cavs brought back the core of their team, everyone is anticipating a potential third installment of their series. Draymond Green included.

Me: Bird and Magic used to always wake up every morning and see how the other guy’s team did the night before, because they knew they were going to see each other in The Finals. If you get back, is Cleveland the only team you want to play?
DG: No. I want to win the Western Conference, try to beat everybody in the Western Conference — which is a tough task. There are so many good teams. So that’s got to be our only focus, to win the Western Conference. And then, if Cleveland comes out of the east, I want to destroy Cleveland. No ifs, and’s and buts about it. But I also know that there’s steps to get to that point. And if and when we get to that point, I want to annihilate them.
Me: And if you get there?
DG: If we get there…
Me: And they get there?
DG: And they get there, I want to completely destroy them. No ifs, ands or buts about it. That won’t change. I’m not saying we’re going to look forward to that. Like I said, there’s a long road ahead. And it’ll be a tough, tough road to get there. Nonetheless, if we get there, and they get there, I want to destroy them. Really ain’t no other way to put it.
