The NBA champion Golden State Warriors went into this off-season with Draymond Green’s contract situation as their biggest concern, and after rumors this afternoon of contract talks breaking off it looks like Warriors fans can take a deep breath.
According to Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports the Warriors have agreed to a five year 85 million dollar deal.

Realistically the Warriors were not going to let Green leave in free agency for nothing, but the only team I saw as a threat was Green’s hometown of Detroit.
Draymond Green made the announcement in a video that he would re-sign on Bleacher Report as well.
Green talked about the odds he overcame to get to this point which former head coach Mark Jackson gave him the opportunity after being drafted in the 2nd round, but Green has improved each and every year.
From scoring 2.9 ppg in his rookie season to last year averaging 11 points 8 rebounds, and 3 assists while becoming a runner-up for defensive player of the year, which some would argue he was the defensive player of the year (including Draymond himself).
Green plays a big role on the stat sheet, but also is an emotional leader on the court he’s been a perfect fit for the Golden State Warriors with an electric fan base that feeds off his energy at times.
The Warriors championship run was sparked by Green overcoming a slump that he was in the first couple games, and the rest is history obviously.
The Golden State Warriors keep their nucleus intact and Green is certainly as important as Steph Curry and Klay Thompson so this signing is a big deal and this team could be competing in the NBA Finals once again in the near future thanks to this move.
