From “Boo’d Up” to “Apesh*t“, the past few months have been full of anthems that could possibly earn the people’s title of “Song of the Summer”. At the moment, Drake‘s “In My Feelings” appears to be leading the race for the mythical title. Since the release of Drake’s Scorpion at the end of June, the song has shot up the charts and become the latest inside joke on Twitter. Thanks to the #ShiggyChallenge and a little help from the City Girls, Drake appears to have his next hit. You can’t go anywhere or open up any app without reading or hearing the words, “Keke, do you love me?” After hearing this question so many times, you may begin to wonder about Keke’s true identity.
After a week, the internet has done what the internet always does. It’s done too much. Private Instagram investigators have officially cracked the case and revealed Keke’s true identity. After a few days of investigating, the internet has come to the conclusion that Keke is short for Keshia Chante. Keshia is a widely known singer, songwriter and TV Personality from Ottawa, Canada. During an appearance on BET in 2013, Drake told Keshia, “You were one of my first crushes.” Last year, the Canadian singer and songwriter shared a picture of the two on Instagram. While it will likely never be confirmed, it’s safe to say that Keisha was definitely an inspiration for the age old question, “Keke, do you love me?”
