Former President Donald Trump reportedly used a slur to describe Vice President Kamala Harris during a private fundraiser.
The Republican nominee for President met with billionaire hedge fund manager Paul Singer, billionaire investment banker Warren Stephens, billionaire former education secretary Betsy DeVos and billionaire Joe Ricketts on Sunday, September 29. During the meeting, Trump allegedly expressed his displeasure with the support he’s received and believes “that people, including donors, needed to do more, appreciate him more and help him more.” As his monologue continued, the New York Times reports that Trump called his political foe, Harris, “r—d.”
Fundraising has been a point of contention throughout election season. Harris raised $1 billion in the first three months of her current presidential campaign. Furthermore, she’s raised twice as much money as her Republican adversary in July, August and September. In fact, Harris raised $28 million at an event in Los Angeles, California while Trump was meeting with fundraisers in late September.
Fundraising differences aside, Harris holds a three-point advantage against Trump as of Saturday, October 12. Harris also holds a slight lead in four battleground states, including Wisconsin, Nevada, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, the Republican nominee holds leads in key states like Arizona, North Carolina and Georgia.
