A chaotic string of events has unfolded in the state of Pennsylvania. During a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump was escorted off stage after the sound of a gun shot echoed throughout the air of the rural Pennsylvania town. The presumptive Republican nominee was photographed with what appeared to be blood near his ear, but the extent of his apparent injuries is unclear. However, Trump did raise his fist to the crowd in an attempt to signal that he was still in good health.
“President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act. He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility. More details will follow,” campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said.
“Pennsylvania State Police are on the scene in Butler County and working with our federal and local partners,” Governor Josh Shapiro added.
Former President Donald Trump is expected to appear at the Republican National Committee next week. It is unclear if today’s events will impact his future campaign endeavors.
