Doja Cat reveals both the release date and tracklist for her sophomore album Hot Pink.
On November 7, Doja Cat will unleash her second album to the world. The rapper shares an passionate social media post celebrating the completed work and promising fans fun surprises.
“I’m VERY excited to announce the release of my sophomore album “HOT PINK” will be NOVEMBER 7TH. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone involved. My heart is fuckin pounding and I know a lot of these song titles aren’t ones you guys are already familiar with. You know I love teasing stuff but I wanted to surprise you so here it is! #HOTPINK” writes Doja Cat on Instagram.
Of the twelve listed tracks, Doja Cat has served up Rules, Bottom Bitch and Juicy ahead of the project’s release. As far as features, there are three total. Tyga’s guest spot on the previously dropped Juicy and an appearance from Smino on Won’t Bite, the second track listed. Track six titled Like That has a feature that Doja Cat blurred out.
Hot Pink follows up Doja Cat’s debut album Amala which dropped over a year ago on March 30, 2018. Fans new and old can expect a new approach to Hot Pink from Doja Cat. She shared during an interview with the Los Angeles Times how she stopped smoking and to write more meaningful music for this project without losing her quirky, campy uniqueness.
“When I stopped and did this album, I’ve never been more concise and clear and levelheaded. People will love me and hate me for it: ‘Why doesn’t she sound like she doesn’t know what she’s talking about anymore?’ I used to write stuff where it didn’t matter. Now there are things I believe in, that get me excited and piss me off. I’m actually reflecting on who I am as a person.” says Doja Cat.
