Doechii is prepared to begin her tenure with Top Dawg Entertainment this Friday. Days before sharing her debut EP, She/Her/Black B*tch, the TDE act unveiled the tracklist. The project will include collaborations like “Swamp B*tches” with Rico Nasty and “Bitches Be” featuring jst ray. The EP will also feature previously released singles like “B*tch, I’m Nice” and “Persuasive” featuring SZA. During a recent interview with MTV, Doechii spoke about what she hopes to convey to a growing fan base with this collection of records.
“I’m really attached to the phrase, ‘Black b*tch.’ It’s something that I feel like I’ve heard a lot in my life. It’s something that people have tried to tear me down with and I’ve kind of tapped into that energy and realized what it really means to be a Black b*tch. Now, I really love it,” Doechii told MTV about She/Her/Black B*tch.
“I feel like these four songs kind of explain the four layers of the Black b*tch.”
The release of Doechii’s She/Her/Black B*tch will keep the ball rolling on what has been an exciting chapter for Doechii and the entire new crop of TDE acts. Leading the way, Doechii landed a SZA collaboration and debuted at the 2022 BET Awards. Meanwhile, Ray Vaughn made his debut on Nick Cannon’s Wild N’ Out while releasing records like “Mannequin” and “Picking Cherries.” Not to be forgotten, Reason and Zacari have remained active by releasing new tracks like “Barely Miss” and “Bliss” featuring Isaiah Rashad.
She/Her/Black B*tch will simply continue this new era of TDE acts. Check out the tracklist below and be on the lookout for the EP on August 5, 2022.
