Rumors began flying last night that Williams had requested a buyout from Brooklyn in order to play for his hometown team who just lost out on another big time free agent, DeAndre Jordan. The Mavericks also have a gaping hole at starting point guard now that Rajon Rondo went on to sign with the Sacramento Kings. Terms of the buyout have yet to be released but Williams is expected to sign a 2 year $10 million deal with Dallas once he clears waivers as first reported by ESPN’s Marc Stein:

Once D-Will officially clears waivers and passes his physical, he’ll be a free agent and be able to choose wherever he wants to play next season which will most likely be the Dallas Mavericks.
