Ravens tight end Owen Daniels will sign with the Denver Broncos. The deal is three years for $12 million dollars. Daniels will follow Gary Kubiak to Denver. Kubiak was the offensive coordinator for Baltimore last season. The two also have a Houston Texans connection from their time spent there. ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the story.

After losing tight end Julius Thomas to the Jaguars, it was essential to land a proven tight end. The Broncos were also able to re-sign tight end Virgil Green. Green is an unknown commodity but is a valuable h-back target. The Daniels signing was something that Kubiak needed to run his offense.
The Ravens on the other hand lose one of Joe Flacco’s trusted weapons. Crockett Gilmore is now the lone tight end on the roster. Dennis Pitta is expected to wind up on the injured reserve list or retire all together after a 2nd major hip injury. The Ravens have take some blows personnel wise but the saying around Baltimore is simple. In Ozzie We Trust. General Manager Ozzie Newsome is one of the leagues best and will find a way to make the Ravens competitive in 2015. Last year the team lost Arthur Jones, Michael Oher, and Corey Graham, the team managed to recover from the losses just fine a season ago.
