The DeAndre Jordan saga this summer has made this offseason one of the most dramatic, well, ever.
In case you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t heard about this: Jordan committed to the Mavericks, but then changed his mind and spurned the Mavs to return to Los Angeles. This angered many, most notably Chandler Parsons and Matt Barnes.
Parsons originally said that Jordan had a chance to be the best center in the NBA for the next 10 years, but then once Jordan changed his mind about playing for Dallas, Parsons said that Jordan was “scared,” and wasn’t ready to be a franchise player.
Now that Jordan and Parsons are both practicing with team USA during their Mini-Camp in Las Vegas, one would think that there is likely to be a lot of awkward tension between the two. However, Jordan says that the too are “cool,” and still friends.
From Ben Bolch of the L.A. Times:
I asked DeAndre Jordan if he talked to Chandler Parsons before joining him with Team USA. His response: "Is Chandler here?"

DeAndre Jordan went on to say of Chandler Parsons: "We’re friends. We’re still friends. It’s cool."

I wonder if Parsons agrees, given the comments that he’s made. It’s possible that Parsons was just bitter and upset at first, and has since calmed down. However, he could still be holding a grudge. Who knows?
