Keyshawn Davis is never shy or lacking in confidence. With an undefeated record of 10-0 and seven knockouts, why wouldn’t he be? Heading into his latest showdown with the power-punching, 25-year-old Miguel Madueño, Davis vows to “dissect” his opponent en route to his 11th professional victory.
“I just need to do the same thing I’ve been doing. I just need to go out there, have fun and perform,” Davis said at Thursday’s press conference.
“He has a style that I’ve seen so many times, especially in the amateurs. When you travel overseas, you fight a lot of guys like that. Now that we are going 10 rounds, I can take my time and dissect this kid. I’m going to go in there and have fun and do what I do.”
While acknowledging the talent his opponent possesses, Madueño believes he has what it takes to stop Davis’s rise to the top of the division.
“This is a good opportunity. It’s an opportunity to show what we are made of. We’ve had some setbacks. But we’re ready to get back on track. And what better than facing a name like Keyshawn,” he said.
“I’m going to walk away with my hand raised. We’ll be looking for the knockout. He is a great fighter. We’ve been watching and analyzing him. He’s spectacular. But on July 6, we’ll walk away victorious.”
On Saturday, July 6, both men will put their talent and preparation to the test as they prepare for a 10-round bout at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on ESPN.
