Blumhouse is trying to keep the snowball rolling with yet another interesting production on their docket. The Hollywood production, which is most known for its horror-centric movies will be making a ‘Fantasy Island’ reboot and are looking to add Dave Bautista to their already ‘blooming’ cast.
For those who don’t know what or who ‘Fantasy Island’ is, it was a 70’s ABC show, which revolved around the premise of guests visiting an island to fulfilling all of their fantasies. Which makes you wonder why Blumhouse would be interested in developing a project like this – but of course, they will add their own horrific touch.
Truth or Dare director Jeff Wadlow will write and direct the movie, which already has Ant-Man & Wasp’s Michael Pena and Crazy Rich Asians Jimmy O. Yang linked to star in the reboot. Now, Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista is in talks to join the same story.
Most will know Bautista from his role as Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise for Marvel or as the World Heavy Weight Champion in the WWE. But Bautista has made a legitimate acting career out of his WWE career, something only a few have been able to do (The Rock and partially John Cena). He’s been in a James Bond movie, the Blade Runner reboot and most recently Hotel Artemis. Not to mention that he’s also expressed interest in jumping ship from Marvel and joining James Gunn’s version of the Suicide Squad. Wherever Bautista lands, we’ll be interested to see how he evolves as an actor.
