Disney may look to expand its catalog of Marvel series in the near future. Variety has reported that Disney+ is developing a new Daredevil series with Matt Corman and Chris Ord attached. News regarding the series comes as little to no surprise considering that actors Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio recently appeared in other Disney+ series.
Prior to the launch of Disney+, Netflix worked with Marvel to develop a Daredevil series. Starring Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, the series ran from 2015 through 2018 until Marvel cut ties with the streaming giant. Along the way, the series picked up nominations at the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards and Golden Reel Awards.
Netflix had also worked with Marvel to develop Luke Cage and Jessica Jones series. While both shows were well received, Marvel has not shared any plans to bring back either show. Instead, Disney+ has pivoted to developing new shows like Ms. Marvel, Ironheart and She-Hulk: Attorney At Law.
