
Danai Gurira has reportedly inked a deal to return for the upcoming Black Panther sequel from Marvel. In addition, she will reportedly return for a spinoff series at Disney+. Deadline first reported the news on Friday, but Disney has not yet commented on the initial report.
Gurira has primarily worked within the Marvel Cinematic Universe as of late. She has appeared in Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Beyond her work with Marvel, Gurira has also contributed to the popular television series, The Walking Dead, and Pandemica. Not to mention, she appeared in the Chadwick Boseman tribute piece, Portrait of an Artist. Moving forward, she is expected to executive produce the television adaptation of the bestselling book, Americanah.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will debut on July 8, 2022. There is no word as to when the spinoff series will earn a title and release date from Disney+.
