DaBaby has scored his first number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Rockstar” featuring Roddy Ricch. Prior to his latest feat, the Carolina native’s highest charting was “Suge” last summer at number seven. He was also featured on the remix of “Truth Hurts” with Lizzo that spent some time atop the charts. Meanwhile, this is Roddy Ricch’s second number one hit. Earlier this year, he topped the charts with the “The Box” off of his debut album. He now becomes the first artist to have two number one hits in the same year since Ed Sheeran in 2017.
Despite criticism, DaBaby’s most recent project, Blame It On Baby, has performed impressively. In its first week, Blame It On Baby topped the Billboard 200 chart with more than 120,000 units. In addition, the project’s first two singles have found their way into the top 25 of the Billboard Hot 100.
It’s unclear what the project’s next single will be, but it will undoubtedly stream well. While we wait for the “Rockstar” video, check out the track above.
