There are few things that get people going quite like a joint mixtape or album with prominent artists and producers. In recent years, Drake has teamed up with Future to deliver What A Time To Be Alive and Lil’ Baby and Lil’ Durk dropped Voice of the Heroes. Not to be forgotten, Drake and 21 Savage dropped Her Loss late last year. Now, it appears that a new trio could be emerging.
Leading up to and following the success of “RNP” in 2019, Anderson .Paak and Cordae have developed a strong bond that extends beyond the studio. During a recent interview, Cordae opened up about his budding friendship with the multi-talented artist.
“This is really my friend,” Cordae told Zane Lowe about Anderson .Paak.
“He’s really like my real friend. [He’s] like my brother.”
Earlier this week, the duo teamed up to deliver a new record called “Two Tens.” Adding to the special collaboration, the two stars enlisted J. Cole for production. Interestingly enough, the Maryland native says that their set of collaborations over J. Cole beats isn’t limited to this most recent track. In fact, he says there may be enough music for a complete Anderson .Paak and Cordae EP with nothing but J. Cole production.
“You know what’s funny, we literally got a mixtape full of joints with me and .Paak,” Cordae continued.
“Well, we got an EP full of joints with me, .Paak, and Cole beats.”
Cordae didn’t go as far as to confirm that a project is in the works, but the idea will get fans going. For now, “Two Tens” will have to feed the audible appetite of the fans.
