Years ago, Chlöe Bailey and Halle Bailey were introduced to the world as an undeniable duo with immense talent. With the support of Beyoncé and Parkwood Entertainment, the duo has been able to star in Grown-ish for several seasons, earn their first Grammy nominations and tour the world. While the two recording artists have intentions of recording more music together, they have used the last two years to explore their creative talents individually. Most notably, Halle Bailey has landed the lead role in the upcoming live-action remake of The Little Mermaid. Meanwhile, Chlöe Bailey has delivered her first set of singles as a solo artist. Today, one of those singles earned her first RIAA plaque as a solo act.
Chart Data has reported that Chlöe Bailey’s first solo single, “Have Mercy,” has gone platinum. This marks the Grammy-nominated act’s first platinum plaque as a solo artist. Bailey didn’t deliver a written message for fans, but she did retweet the accomplishment while adding a few emojis.
The success of “Have Mercy” sets the stage for the second half of the year as Chlöe Bailey begins to roll out her latest set of singles. Most notably, she has been teasing the London On Da Track-produced “For The Night.” She has also previewed the 6LACK-assisted single, “Cry For Me.” Bailey recently shared images from the track’s video shoot, but it does appear that the single may be shelved for the time being due to a number of leaks. Not to be forgotten, Chlöe Bailey also recently delivered the “Surprise” video.
While Bailey continues to put the final touches on her first solo project, fans can celebrate the commercial success of “Have Mercy.”
