Both artists successful releases made the race to No. 1 a close one. According to Billboard, NF’s The Search sold 130,000 equivalent album units with 84,000 in album sales, marking the highest sales week for a rap album in 2019.
Chance The Rapper’s efforts lead to 108,000 equivalent album units with 27,000 pure album sales. The Big Day becomes Chance The Rapper’s highest-charting project behind previous releases labeled as mixtapes (10 Day in 2012; Acid Rap, 2013, and Coloring Book, 2016).
Ed Sheeran’s No.6 Collaborations Project moves from No. 1 to No. 3, Billie Eilish’s When We Fall Asleep drops to No. 4, Chris Brown’s Indigo moves up to No. 5 and Lil Nas X’s 7 falls to No. 6. The remaining top 10 spots are filled by Lizzo’s Cuz I Love You, Key Glock and Young Dolph’s Dum And Dummer, Of Monsters And Men’s Fever Dream and, closes out with Dreamville’s Revenge Of The Dreamers III.
