If I were to tell you Kyrie Irving would leave the Eastern Conference Finals due to injury and LeBron James would shoot 7/23 from the field you’d chalk that up to a loss against a Bulls team that is one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference.
Well, The Cavaliers won in a dominating performance and a good team win that was sparked by a flagrant foul by Nikola Mirotic.
Iman Shumpert would take over from there scoring 11 points in the second quarter to go into halftime with a 58-44 lead.
The Cavs would not look back after that they kept the foot on the gas pedal with the Eastern Conference Finals in sight.
The Bulls would be outscored in the fourth quarter 21-13, and looked like a team that didn’t show up mentally to compete.
Matthew Dellavedova was the unlikely hero scoring 19 points while shooting 7/11 from the floor. The Bulls kept double and triple teaming LeBron leaving Dellavedova wide open, and he made them pay 3 times from beyond the arc.
LeBron James talked about his teammates efforts so far in the post-season:
“I do everything for my team, do everything for my teammates,” James said. “I want these guys to be able to feel this moment. That’s what I came back here for. I’ve got four guys that never made the postseason that played a huge role on this team.”
The Cavaliers await the winner of the Hawks and Wizards series where they’ll get some much needed rest being without Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving dealing with some leg injuries.
As for The Bulls they’ll be in for an interesting off-season as this could be a very different team next year, and they may have a new face coaching on the sidelines.
