For many years, Craig Sager graced the sidelines of NBA games and even the NBA All-Star Weekend. He was a staple in Turner Sports coverage of the events for years, often interviewing your favorite players, coaches and even some celebrities. While the legend did pass away late last year, his memory lives on in the 2017 NBA All-Star Weekend.
During the 2017 Rising Stars Challenge, there will be a special group of fans in attendance to watch the stars of tomorrow take the court. While Kristaps Porzingis, Karl Anthony-Towns, Brandon Ingram and fellow first and second-year stars compete against their peers, a group of New Orleans cancer survivors will be up close and center enjoying the festivities.
In memory of Craig Sager, 30 local cancer survivors will have their own lower-bowl "Sager Strong" section at the Rising Stars Challenge.

It’s fantastic to see survivors come together and celebrate life similar to how Craig Sager would. With friends, having a good time and enjoying the spectacular sport of basketball. The memory of Craig Sager will live forever and his presence will absolutely be felt during the 2017 NBA All-Star Weekend.
