The New York Knicks have traded forward Cam Reddish, forward Svi Mykhailiuk, guard Ryan Arcidiacono, and a first-round pick to the Portland Trail Blazers for forward Josh Hart. New York is sending a 2023 lottery-protected first-round draft pick that will turn into four future second-round draft picks if not conveyed this year. Reddish had hardly played since being traded to the Knicks from the Atlanta Hawks and had grown frustrated with his lack of a role on the team. The hope is he lands a larger role with the Trail Blazers who also add draft capital in the trade.

The Knicks move away from Cam Reddish in this deal and add a wing that should plug right into their rotation this season as they try to make the NBA Playoffs. Portland adds a forward that has promise and room on their roster for a bigger opportunity. The extra draft capital will also help them in the future add players or make a trade down the road as they also hope to make the NBA Playoffs.
