Wonder Woman Blows Away The Mummy.
The weekend box office results are in! Wonder Woman managed to hold on to the top spot for the second weekend in a row with $57.18 million. Only dropping 44.6% in its second weekend of release. The positive word of mouth and excellent reviews have propelled Wonder Woman to early success while also setting the stage for what could be a deep theatrical run. The weekend’s biggest new wide release was Tom Cruise’s The Mummy. The film faired ok domestically pulling in an estimated $32.2 million but, the film absolutely crushed it overseas bringing in over $141 million internationally. Though Universal might be disappointed by the initial domestic haul for the film, they should be encouraged that even if the films in their Dark Universe flounder domestically that they should be able to make bank overseas.
