The highly anticipated sequel to 21 Jump Street has taken the top spot at the US box office.
22 Jump Street starring Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill and Ice Cube garnered a whopping $60 million its opening weekend.
The film beat new animation flick How to Train Your Dragon, which came in second place with $50 million.
Angelina Jolie’s Disney reboot Maleficent went down to number three, while Tom Cruise’s sci-fi Edge of Tomorrow sits at number four.
The Fault In Our Stars rounded out the top five, earning $15.7 million, following the $48.2 million earned opening weekend.
Meanwhile, X-Men: Days of Future Past slipped from sixth to seventh place with $9.5 million, earning a total of over $205 million.
Godzilla (3.155m), A Million Ways To Die In The West ($3.077m), Neighbors ($2.484m), and Chef ($2.276m) complete the top 10.
