The Boston Celtics have won 11 of their 17 championships since 1964, which also happens to be the last year Boston hosted an NBA All-Star Weekend. Since 1964, they have seen their fair share of stars come through their ranks from Bill Russell to John Havlicek to Larry Bird and even more success with coach Doc Rivers and Paul Pierce leading up to where they are now with Brad Stevens coaching the squad led by Kyrie Irving and they still hope for a healthy Gordon Hayward return. Plus, they have some young talent already on board in Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum with future draft picks as they push for success going forward.
So why not bring back the mid-season celebration of the NBA to one of the league’s most important teams? Boston is long overdue for an NBA All-Star Weekend and it appears that the NBA is ready to give it to them.
The following comes from Chris Mannix of Yahoo! Sports.
Hearing in LA there is a strong likelihood that Boston—if it wants it—can secure the NBA’s All Star game in 2022. Boston last hosted the game in 1964.

It has been previously reported that the Celtics did submit a bid for the 2022 NBA All-Star Game.
Other teams are throwing their name in the running for the 2022 NBA All-Star weekend but if the NBA is ready to give Boston the keys for 2022, it’s going to be a no-brainer for the league. The history coupled with the presumed success they will have in about five years should set up a perfect scenario to remember Celtics’ legends, as they do so well, and also re-introduce the world to their franchise.
