Ryan Coogler has announced that Disney will released the second installment of the Black Panther theatrical series on May 6, 2022. The news comes months after the critically acclaimed director reached an agreement to oversee Black Panther II.
Disney and Marvel have been tight lipped about the details of the sequel. With the movie three years away, a lot can change. However, we do know one more thing about the movie.
Recently, Martin Freeman announced that he will reprise his role as Everett K. Ross. He said, “As far as I know, I will be [returning]. As far as I know, I will be in another Black Panther. That’s my understanding. As to when that will happen, I don’t know.”
Fans have also speculated that Michael B. Jordan could return for the sequel as Erik Killmonger. However, Marvel’s Kevin Feige has denied that rumor for now. He said, “The honest answer… is that is pure rumor and speculation, because Coogler is just only in recent weeks sitting down at his keyboard and beginning to outline the movie.”
One thing is for certain. Black Panther II is on the way and that will have to do for now.
