Stefon Diggs is planning to make way for a major showcase of Black businesses in Chocolate City. Over the holiday weekend, the NFL star announced that he had partnered with the folks at Black On The Block to bring a Black business showcase to Franklin Park in Washington, D.C. on July 17, 2022.
“I present you Black on the Block DC! We’re taking it to the Capital,” he wrote.
“Tell your mama! Tell your cousin! Tell your auntie! Please share this image. I want as many creatives and entrepreneurs as possible.”
Black On The Block is a growing platform that provides a monthly marketplace for Black entrepreneurs, creatives and consumers. Founded by George Washington University and Howard University graduates Lanie and Char Edwards, the event has garnered the support of Smino, Omarion, Sevyn Streeter, Arin Ray and several others. Along the way, it has featured businesses such as Bare Influence, Expensive Habits Barbershop and Auth0zd.
In addition to hosting an event in Washington, D.C. in July, Black On The Block will also return to Los Angeles, California on July 24, 2022. The traveling festival and marketplace also has dates set for August, September, October, November and December. Interested entrepreneurs, artists and creatives are encouraged to visit the marketplace’s official website to learn more.
