Bill Murray and Sofia Coppola will team up once again for ‘On The Rocks’. The duo first collaborated for the culturally shocking and jet-lag infused ‘Lost in Translation’ which ended up giving Coppola the Oscar nod for Best Original Screenplay and Murray the nomination for Best Actor in 2003. In 2015, they joined once against for ‘A Very Murray Christmas’ but that received mixed reviews. Now ‘On The Rocks’ is on the table for both of them.
There currently isn’t a lot known about Coppola’s On the Rocks, aside from a brief rundown of the plot, which tells the story of a young mother who reconnects with her absentee playboy father in New York City. The film is set to begin shooting in New York this spring.
While Deadline reports that Murray will join the film, Rashida Jones will join the film as well. The film will be released through A24 and Apple and will mark the first joint effort of the two production companies.
