Severance, the hit Apple TV+ series, features a cast of accomplished actors and producers, including Ben Stiller, John Turturro and Adam Scott among others. Not to mention, a wide range of celebrities, ranging from Al Pacino to SZA have shown support for the show. However, the show’s executive producer, Ben Stiller, thinks one more star is needed to add to the show’s star power.
One night after appearing at the 97th Academy Awards, Stiller sat down with Jimmy Kimmel for a late-night interview. During their conversation, Stiller told Kimmel that he asked a former U.S. President to appear on the show.
“There was one person that I asked before [Keanu Reeves], and he said no: President Barack Obama,” Stiller told Kimmel.
Reeves appeared in the first episode of the show’s second run. He narrated Lumon’s puppet propaganda video shown to the innies after Obama turned the guest appearance down.
“Hey Ben, big fan of the show, love Season 1, can’t wait for Season 2. Don’t think I have time in my schedule to make this happen,” Obama replied, according to Stiller.
While an Obama guest spot may have made headlines and wowed fans, the show’s second season has managed to get by without his star power. The show has gained a 97% approval rating from critics as it heads into the eighth episode of season two.
