Philadelphia 76ers rookie Ben Simmons was spotted playing in a pickup game in Australia, prompting some fans to question how healthy he is. Well, it appears they have an answer. According to Tom Moore of the Bucks Courier Times, Simmons has been cleared for all basketball actives moving forward.

This is a big step for Simmons, who will finally play after missing all of last season with a foot injury. According to Moore, teammate Joel Embiid has not been cleared for all basketball activities as of yet. Embiid took the league by storm last season, albeit briefly. His season was cut short by a knee injury, but said the extent of the injury was overblown.
Initially Simmons was supposed to come back at some point last season, but ended up sitting out. His role on the team is still somewhat undefined, as coach Brett Brown initially wanted him to play point guard. However, with the team drafting Markelle Fultz, that plan may be dashed. The Sixers will open training camp September 26th with their regular season opener October 16th against the Washington Wizards.
